In a move highlighting MCA’s commitment to safeguarding public health, the Bundung Magistrates Court, on the 25th August 2025, convicted Matarr Jagne for the unauthorized storage of medicines.
Presiding over the case, Magistrate I. Dibba sentenced Jagne to pay a fine of D100,000, in default of paying the fine, the convict will serve four years imprisonment.
The verdict serves as a stern warning to individuals and entities that are engaged in medicines and related products business without proper authorization, reinforcing the importance of compliance with national regulations on medicine and related products.
The Medicines Control Agency continue to emphasize the need for strict adherence to these regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of the Gambian public.
